According to The Evening Standard, 12th January 2009, "Booming Cinemas are a great escape from recession"

Lucy Tobin headlines "Last night the movie industry was celebrating itself at the Golden Globes. Given the success of Danny Boyle and Kate Winslet, City financiers and shareholders think the UK cinema industry itself could be a star this year."

Accordingly, BritFlick Productions will concentrate on films with a target audience.

In the UK, THE FOOTBALL FACTORY cost less than $1.0 million and grossed a modest $1.3 million at the box office, but it has sold a staggering 970,000 units on DVD, comparable to a Hollywood blockbuster.

BritFlick Productions will be based in the UK.In 2005, the UK was the world’s third largest in terms of filmed entertainment revenues****, the UK film sales industry was the second largest in the world after Los Angeles*** and UK-originated films had a worldwide gross of $3.6 billion which was a 15.5% share of the global theatrical market.

BritFlick Productions will spread the risk. By producing a slate of films, rather than ‘one-offs’, the financial risk is diversified. If one film fails to be successful, any losses can be offset by the more successful projects.
