The Team

BritFlick’s creative and production team will be headed up by Ray Burdis who has over 30 years experience as a Film and TV producer and director. With over 15 years experience working alongside Ray Burdis at Fugitive, John Beckett, Mark Burdis, Gary Trowsdale, Ron Young and Ian Kirk complete BritFlick’s production and management team. Between them they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in film production, administration, music publishing and synchronisation, marketing, talent accruement and business management.



Ray Burdis, Managing Director has over 30 years experience as a Film and TV producer and director.

Ray has run independent production company Fugitive for the last 25 years and has produced numerous features, including the acclaimed gangster biopic The Krays.

He has produced top Hollywood talent such as Viggo Mortensen, Ashley Judd and Brendan Fraser.

He has also co-written and directed both hit TV series and films including the Montreux award winning Operation Good Guys for the BBC and the cult hit movie Love Honour and Obey starring Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller, Rhys Ifans and Ray Winstone, and the cult hit movie 'Final Cut'..

Ray is also a respected actor in his own right with numerous starring roles to his name.

John Beckett, Operations Director has over 30 years experience in the music and film industries. At the age of 19, he joined Adam and the Ants as guitarist and toured the world and recorded extensively with top music artists.

John has composed numerous soundtracks and produced and remixed artists as diverse as Freddie Mercury, Denise van Outen and Rolf Harris. He has been a director of Fugitive Group for over 15 years, running all aspects of the company’s production, administration and music activities, including publishing and sync rights.

John is the musical director of all the above productions. He also starred as Strings, a musically frustrated policeman in the award winning BBC comedy Operation Good Guys. See clip below, 'Chain Mail Love' the plight of the gay medieval knights.





Mark Burdis, Executive Director has enjoyed a successful acting career for over thirty years. He started his career playing the popular founder character Stewpot in Grange Hill.

He went on to work with top TV names including Ricky Tomlinson, David Jason and Jimmy Nesbitt and has starred alongside the likes of Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Kathy Burke in theatrical features.

He has also appeared in numerous West End shows and has fronted TV advertising campaigns for Morrisons and the popular AA Kev and Bev adverts.

Over the past ten years Mark has been a key member of the Fugitive team in all aspects of production and has key talent contacts among agents and artists.

Ian Kirk, Finance Director is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in the film industry for more than 10 years.

During this time he has worked for sales agents, producers and talent including such companies as Mayday Management who were responsible for the management of the Monty Python Group, Greenpoint Films and also Intermedia where Ian worked with the team that successfully raised capital for the company through an IPO.

Most recently Ian worked at the UK Film Council where he oversaw the exploitation of the council's catalogue of over 1,200 titles was instrumental in the structuring of the production finance and distribution of the council's investments. Ian is responsible for co-ordinating film production finance and the day to day operations of AV Pictures.



Gary Trowsdale, Communications Director won New Product Marketer of the Year from the Marketing Society of Great Britain for launching the VideoPlus+ programming system in the UK.

He was responsible for the development and launch of the FA Premier League Hall of Fame for United News & Media. He has also worked with some of the biggest consumer brands such as Coca Cola and McDonalds across a range of promotional initiatives.

His speciality is Media Communications and his current activities includes a role as Communications Director for the Damilola Taylor Trust anti youth crime charity. He has also managed a number of film premieres including the controversial Football Factory.



Ron Young, Director for IP is a management consultant, conference speaker and lecturer, and co-author of ‘Upside Down Management – revolutionizing management and development to maximize business success’, (McGraw Hill-Europe), and ‘Knowledge Asset Management’, (Springer-Verlag).

He brings 30 years of business development, business investment and growth, and a global perspective to the use and application of digital asset management and knowledge management to achieving successful business results.
